Welcome to the first edition of the Conroe Post 411 Newsletter. As your commander I hope you find this informational and easy reading.
The Post was chartered in 1934 by thirty four members, all who were WW1 veterans. Most of the members were local business men that were either employed or owned a business. We don’t know a lot about these men except that they were all veterans and wanted to carry on the tradition that the American Legion had established when first organized in 1919. Our last Post Home was sold some twenty to twenty-five years ago and it would be of great benefit to the current membership today to have a Post of their own, instead of having to depend on outside sources. The Post was revitalized in 2012 by a very small group of Veterans who left another post to reorganize this Post and has grown from approximately twelve to the current two-hundred seventy, give or take. The Officers and members strive to provide services to local area Veterans, Active Duty Service Men and Women and their Families. Contained within this Newsletter you will learn where and when the Post meetings are held. The covid virus took a toll on both our members and the attendance at our Post meetings. BUT the Post is making a comback and attendance, at our meetings, is steadily growing. As the Commander, I welcome you to your Post and look forward to meeting you at our Post Meetings and Events that we participate in.
